The 2020 International Women’s Day theme is #EachForEqual.
It aims to empower each of us to become actors of change and to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, improve situations and celebrate women’s and girls’ achievements.
At European level, Member States are the primary actors of change.
Gender-related issues are mostly national competences as they belong to the social affairs area. Nevertheless, the European institutions play a very important role in enforcing legislation and actions led by the Member States.
On the 5th of March 2020, the von der Leyen Commission published the renewed EU Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025.
Its main goal is to achieve more and faster progress to promote equality between men and women.
What initiatives and concrete actions are going to be put in place to bridge gender gaps and allow Europe to continue its progression towards a full equality between women and men? Download the e-book above to find out more!
